The Information Technology Division (IT) is pleased to announce updates to the process for requesting Information Technology projects and/or services. IT Projects supported by a VP/ Division Head can now be submitted ANYTIME throughout the year via Web Help Desk and will be presented to the President's Executive Committee (PEC) for approval monthly. Once approved, IT has a 60-day window to begin work on the project.
IT Project Request Process:
The first step of this process requires the completion of the EWU IT Project Request found in the Web Help Desk.
The Initiator logs into the Web Help Desk, selects Customer Request, IT Project Request under Request Type and fills out the request (NOTE: Anyone can initiate a request). The form contains information such as:
* Customer name, phone, and department
* Description of the business need, problem or opportunity.
* Project Justification
* Cost estimate and/or budget information.
The Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) reviews the requests.
The request is reviewed by IT Subject Matter Expert(s) and the IT Senior Management team and the project charter is completed.
If necessary, the request is reviewed by the appropriate governance committee.
President's Executive Committee (PEC) reviews, approves and prioritizes requests.
Approved requests are assigned an IT Project Manager who will begin the effort within 60 days.
